Project overview
This project involved developing a custom WordPress website for Hakuna Zonnepanelen, a company specializing in solar panel installations. Collaborating closely with a designer, I built an informative and visually engaging website focused on educating potential customers and generating qualified sales leads. Key features include subtle animations, an educational Knowledge Hub, and a sophisticated custom form for detailed quote requests, all optimized for the Dutch market.
The Challenge
Hakuna Zonnepanelen required a professional online platform that could effectively communicate the benefits of solar energy and smoothly guide visitors towards requesting a quote. The main challenges were to:
- Accurately translate a custom design vision into a functional, responsive WordPress website.
- Integrate engaging elements like subtle animations without compromising site speed or usability.
- Structure and present educational content effectively within a Knowledge Hub.
- Develop a complex, multi-field form capable of capturing specific user information needed for accurate solar installation estimates.
- Ensure the website was optimized for performance, user experience, and search engines to maximize lead generation potential.
My Role
Working in partnership with the project’s designer, my role was the WordPress Developer. I was responsible for the entire technical implementation and build of the Hakuna Zonnepanelen website. Key responsibilities included:
- Translating the provided Figma designs into a high-quality, functional WordPress theme using Elementor.
- Developing all website features and functionalities according to the specifications.
- Implementing the subtle animations using CSS/JavaScript to enhance visual appeal.
- Structuring and building out the Knowledge Hub section for easy content management.
- Developing the custom extended quotation form with specific fields and logic.
- Ensuring the website was fully responsive across all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
- Optimizing the site for loading speed and implementing foundational on-page SEO elements.
The Solution
I delivered a custom-built WordPress website tailored to Hakuna Zonnepanelen’s lead generation goals:
- Custom WordPress Implementation: Built the site faithfully based on the unique design specifications, ensuring brand consistency. Built using Elementor Pro on a lightweight base Hello Theme.
- Engaging Micro-Animations: Integrated subtle animations on elements like buttons, counters, or section loading to create a more dynamic and modern user experience.
- Structured Knowledge Hub: Created a dedicated section for articles and guides, allowing Hakuna Zonnepanelen to position themselves as experts and improve SEO through valuable content.
- Advanced Quotation Form: Developed a detailed, multi-step single form that gathers crucial information (like roof type, energy usage, address details) enabling the sales team to provide quick and accurate installation estimates.
- Fully Responsive & Optimized: Ensured seamless performance and layout adaptation across all screen sizes, prioritizing fast load times for better user experience and SEO.
Results / Outcome
The project resulted in a professional, high-performing WordPress website that effectively serves as Hakuna Zonnepanelen’s primary online presence and lead generation tool.
